Soap and Glory Solar Powder | Review

Solar Powder was the first ever Soap and Glory cosmetic product. The cosmetics line only came out about 7 months ago but this has always been available.

It is a bronzer (in case you didnt already notice) and it has 2 shades to it. On the first use it also has a purple shimmer over the S&G but that comes of immediately after putting the brush over it. Because of the purple shimmer that is there to start with, the bronzer is very shimmery which I really dislike.

I am very fair skinned and don't usually tend to use bronzers. I liked how light the colours looked and thought the product would be perfect for me. Unfortunately when applied the the face I didn't notice any colour pay off and after layering it on a very faint orange shade showed up on the skin.

I do normally love Soap and Glory but this product was a real dissapointment. It costs £11 which I think is quite expensive for what it is and I know there are better bronzers for much lower prices.

Betrousse beauty box | organic box

Be trousse is another beauty box on the market. I like the concept of this one a lot more than the subscription boxes. Although the element of surprise dissapears at least you know you are only getting boxes you want. Basically every month a new box comes out and if you want it you get it if you don't want it you don't get it. Also another massive bonus is that every product in the box is full sized. Each box also comes with a theme eg. summer essentials, spring trends and this one which is organic.

Reve de provence organic soap bar - I really like the lavender smell of this but I never use bar soap and I don't think many people do. They are just to much hassle and I find bottle soap to be much more hygienic. I don't think this will get any use at all, maybe I could put it in a draw to make things smell nice. £4.99

Forest people luminous serum eyes and lips contour - I think this looks like a great product. I comes with a pippet in the lid (obviously the best thing about the product). As you only need a drop for the lips and a drop for the skin around the eyes this will defiantly last me a long time. It also smells amazing as it is made of all natural oils. £31

Lothantique bath salt - The packaging of this is amazing, it has a very vintage feel to it and comes in a glass jar. When I opened the salts to smell them I started to cough because the smell is so strong. I really dislike the initial smell so hopefully in the bath the smell won't be very strong. £10

Fro Her Aloe and honey mist - This is a comb out hair mist that you use on towel dry hair or on dry hair for softening and strengthening hair. It smells quite nice but when I tried it this morning it left my hair feeling sticky as the dispenser isn't very good and just aims the product at one part of the hair instead of misting it over a lot of hair. This is also the only British brand included in the box which is good as you get to try unfamiliar brands. £10.99

K Pour Karite hair mascara - This is honetly my least favourite product of the lot. I love the concept and everything but I dont have grey hair and everyone I know with grey hair has died their hair brwon not black and black is the shade I got which i'm not very happy with to be honest. I'm not to sure what I am going to do with it yet. £12.95

The box has a value of £72 but instead it only costs £17 for 5 full sized products that isnt bad. You can buy  a box from here

Luxbox Beauty Box | June 2012

If you are a regular reader of my blog you will probably know that the beauty box I get is Luxbox. I have really enjoyed the boxes so far and this month's is no exception. I feel like the items in Luxbox are more suited to the type of thing I enjoy and guess what....no perfume samples in sight. In this months box there are 2 (or maybe 3 i'm not sure) full sized products.

As im sure you can imagine the box was quite heavy this month. It has lots of great products in it and I will be using everything in it (except maybe one).

Darwood Tanner Tooth Cleanser - I know this has a posh name but its a toothpaste. It comes in 4 flavors (im not sure if everyone got the same flavor or not) and I got Brazilian lime. I am undecided about how I feel about a lime flavored toothpaste but if I enjoy using it expect a review. 100ml - £3.99 (Full size)

First Aid Beauty Face Cream - I have been wanting to try something from First Aid beauty for ages so when I found it in the box I was so happy. Hopefully this will live up to my expectations. It has a very light herbally smell  and after trying it on my hand I think it leaves skin looking a bit shiny. 30ml - £7.50

Murad time release acne cleanser - I received a Murad cleanser in the last Luxbox and was very impressed with it. Hopefully this will be just as good. It has anti aging properties and acne clearing ingredients so its good for all ages. It also smells amazing which is always a bonus. 30ml £5.50

Kelly Edwards exfoliating cream - This is the one product I don't think I will like, it has an extremely strong herbal scent which I really dislike. I'm also not a big one for exfoliating as they either dry my skin out or cause damage to it. I will give this a try and you never know maybe I will like it. 15ml - £4.50

Green People eco eye trio - I think this is my favourite product of the lot. It came in the shade Earth which is great as I only tend to wear neutral eyeshadow so I will be getting a lot of wear out of this. Its free of chemicals and 100% of ingredients are natural. It is quite pricey to buy normally but its amazing that it came in the box. £18.40

July Beauty Wishlist

1) L'oreal color infallible in sahara treasure - I have been wanting this for ages after seeing so many bloggers talk about it. Its really unique as it it loose powder but pressed together.

2) MUA undressed pallete - I love MUA eyeshadows they are so pigmented yet so cheap. This new pallete is almost an exact dupe for the Naked Pallete and at only £4 it would be rude not to buy it. (No superdrugs near me stocks the palletes)

3) L'oreal rouge caresse lipstick in Aphrodite scarlet - This is a gorgeous colour and have heard that the range are comparable to the Revlon lip butters which I love.

4) Revlon photoready cream blush - I love cream blush and the small range of colours from Revlon are all bright colours which I love in a cream blush.

5) Maybelline colour tattoo in bad to the bronze - I have heard so many good things about these and every blogger seems to have them and have written about them. I haven't tried the mac paintpots and I have heard these are similar.

6) MUA going for gold pallete - I love anything that has an Olympic theme and this pallete has just that. I would wear all the colours and in case you cant tell the colours are all shades of medals; bronze, silver and gold.

7) Clinique Chubby Stick in chunky cherry - These are everywhere at the moment and the TV advert has really sucked me in. They have a wide colour range and I really want to try one.

Please let me know if you enjoy wishlist posts and I will post a few more of them. Whats on your wishlist this month?

Bargain Hunter

I love getting a good bargain so when I saw these mirrors in Dunelm Mill last weekend I was surprised to see how many amazing offers they had on.

I saw this mirror and new straight away I was going to get it. The hard part was deciding on a colour. They had white, red, black, pink, purple, lime green, turquoise and the dark blue I finally decided on. It has a normal mirror on one side and a 3x magnified mirror on the other side. It has a big base to so I have put a few of my every day items on it which looks great. The best part though is the price. This mirror only cost me a mere £1.99. I couldn't believe it, I wanted more than one but that would be greedy.

I also got this massive hatbox (maybe not so massive for a hatbox but yaknow) It has a lovely floral print on it and although I am currently unsure what I am going to use it for I know it will come in handy to store something at some point. It cost £2.50 and I got the medium sized box.

The mirrors can be found on the Dunelm Mill website here

Perfect Day

If you have seen my past posts you will know I am a big fan of Soap and Glory and really love their make up range. This lipstick is no exception. It is in the shade Perfect Day which is a lovely rosey pinky red colour.

First off the packaging; I love it! It is pretty bulky but I still like it. For some reason it remind me of topshop packaging because of how simple it it. Also the Soap and Glory lipsticks aren't just lipsticks they are fabulipsticks which is so clever. Whoever comes up with all the products names is so creative.

The formula is really moisturising which I like in a lipstick as for some reason I always have dry lips. I also love the smell, its like a very light vanilla smell. It also has the S&G logo on the lipstick which I think gives it an added something.

I would have preferred there to be a bit more product but the overall product is amazing so i'm not too bothered about that.

I am on the hunt for some new lipsticks, what are your favourites?
