5 Things To Do In England This Summer

I personally really enjoy spending my summer in England and love finding new places and new things to do in the country which I live in. Hopefully I will have ideas that suit every age range and location in the country. Sorry that this is about England and not the whole UK but I only have knowledge of England and Scotland.

1. Visit the New Forest. The New Forest is one of my favourite places to visit in England. I love that you can be driving along with pony's roaming free and cows wandering down the middle of the road. There are so many little villages to visit which have lovely tea rooms and gift shops.

2. Go to the theater or opera. During the summer a lot of west end shows tour the UK so they become more accessible for everyone. I have only been to the west end once to see the Wizard of Oz and loved it. Theaters also have productions of their own on so they are worth checking out to. The opera is also a good place to visit if you want a nice night out with family. The English National Opera have several productions on in London such as ballets and in October a new production, Madam Butterfly, is being shown. After watching some videos about it, it sounds like the perfect romantic production.

3. Go to the beach. My favourite beaches in England are Whitby/Scarborough and in Dorset. I love spending the day on the coast, not so much lying on the beach but walking down the pier and visiting independent shops and not to forget fish and chips at the end of the day.

4. Go to the Zoo or Safari Park. If you get nice weather, the zoo is a great place to spend the day with family. Some zoo's are a bit of a disappointment but my favourites are Knowsley Safari Park and Longleat. Also if you do happen to be in Scotland, Edinburgh zoo is the best zoo I have ever been to.

5. Spend the day in a city. Spending the day in a city is a great way to keep everyone happy. Whether it's shopping, sight seeing or going for afternoon tea, there will be enough to do. My favourite cities are Nottingham, Liverpool and Shrewsbury (is Shrewsbury a city?)

What are your favourite things to do during the summer?

Nakd Bars

I am currently on a health and fitness mission and hope to be documenting my progress and ideas on my blog. Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in seeing. Nakd bars have become one of my favourite snacks recently.

Nakd bars are 99% natural bars and are made from mainly nuts and dates plus the fruit of the flavor of the bar. As they are natural they are a healthy snack to have even though they are relatively high in calories. Its healthier to eat this than a chocolate bar because of what is going in to your body.

Nakd bars are surprisingly sweet which is because of the dates i'm guessing. I tried the cocoa orange flavour and they taste amazing, and really kick a sugar craving. They are usually on offer in supermarkets for around 50p. I am looking forward to trying some different flavors of the nakd bars.

What are your favourite healthy snacks?

Hoobynoo World Phoenix Necklace

Hoobynoo World offers quirky and high quality jewellery pieces such as acrylic necklaces, felt brooches, hair accessories, iPhone cases and much more, all of which are handmade. All items from Hoobynoo world would make great gifts for people of any age and if your buying for someone who 'has everything' they definitely won't have anything like the necklaces. Every character illustration is original and unique and the characters also come with a personality profile.

I was very kindly sent a phoenix necklace to write about on here. As soon as I handled the necklace I knew it was extremely good quality. The acrylic is very thick so isn't going to snap and the shape is securely attached to a silver chain on both sides. The great thing about this is it could be worn casually or could be worn as a statement piece.

For a handmade item of this quality I would expect to pay over £20 but guess how much this sells for?.......only £12.50 which is a bargain when you think about how much work must have gone into making this. This is actually a larger necklace so is more expensive than some of the others. Another great thing about Hoobynoo world is quality is everything. After speaking to Chiara, the owner of Hoobynoo world I know that if an item is short of perfect even just slightly she won't sell it, which is great because you know you are always going to get a perfect piece.

I would definitely buy from Hoobynoo World in the future as they really do have something for everyone. You can find Hoobynoo World items in Liberty's or online here.

Have you tried anything from Hoobynoo world?

Nando's!

Nando's is one of those places that I never went to because I thought it was overly hyped up and popular. I also thought its just 'a chicken restaurant'. When I was kindly given the chance to go for a meal at Nando's I was pleased beyond expectation.

When we arrived we were told about how to order, where to collect sauce from and were told how spicy each spice was. Nando's is a relaxed kind of restaurant which I wasn't expecting. You go to the 'bar' area to order and then if you have a soft drink you go and make it yourself and they are refillable - bonus! I would also like to point out now that all the people who worked there were incredibly friendly and helpful.

I do not like overly spicy things so me and my mum opted for the lemon and herb butterfly chicken. The great thing about Nando's in that you choose a food and pick the spice you want on it and then pick the sides you want too which is great. We both chose to have chips and coleslaw as sides. Apologies for the pictures, I started to eat before I remembered to take pictures whoops. The chicken was lovely and so filling.

My little sister had the chicken strips off the children's menu and had it as mild with sweetcorn and chips. She is an extremely fussy eater but enjoyed the meal and ate every last bit of it. Nando's really is a great family restaurant as it caters well for all ages.

Please also excuse this horrible picture, again I started eating without remembering to take a picture. I had a choc-o-late cake for dessert and let me tell you it was delicious. When I was debating about ordering it, our lovely waiter told us that if I couldn't manage it all he would box it up for me to take home. This again was brilliant customer service and that alone made me order the cake.

Overall I would say Nando's is definitely worth a visit and it is my new favourite restaurant. I will certainly be visiting again and as prices are average for a restaurant it won't break the bank either!

What do you think of Nando's?

Nottingham Blogger Meet Up

On Saturday 13th April I attended the Nottingham blogger meet up. This post is so late (over a month) but better late than never right? I arrived in Nottingham at about 10am and after getting lost I finally made it to the train station to meet Amiiee from Itsamiieeism. We then met up with Amy from Cocktails in Teacups and Rhiannon from Sparkly Panda. When we arrived at the meeting place there was a considerable amount of people there already. It was like business networking only for bloggers! After everyone arrived we (group 1) made our way over to Kiehls which was a lovely addition to the day.

We were spoken to about the history and philosophy of Kiehls and were also greeted with cupcakes and champagne or orange juice. We also got an individual skin consultation which confirmed our skin types and we were recommended products that would work well on our skin. I am now after the midnight recovery serum!

After that we went shopping and I had an amazing time meeting the bloggers behind some amazing blogs.

At 5pm 30 of us went for a meal at TGI Fridays which was lovely. When we arrived we each had 2 goodie bags waiting on the table for us. During the meal there were also some giveaways with prizes from some amazing brands such as enrapture. I had such a great time and would definitely go to another blogger meet up.

I would like to thank Sophia from Tattooed Tea Lady for putting so much effort into the day and making it so memorable!
